COOKIE POLICY

This Cookie Policy (our policy related to the use of cookies) applies to the Internet site and to the applications that are accessed or used through the same website.
By using our website users agree to our use of cookies in compliance with this Cookie Policy. Where users do not agree to our use of cookies in this way, it will be necessary to configure their own browser accordingly or to not use the website. A decision to disable the cookies used by us could affect the users' experience whilst visiting the website.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are found in your browser’s directory. When accessing a website a cookie that is sent to the device being used to access the site sends information to the browser. Cookies are very common and are used on numerous websites. This occurs because cookies allow whoever is running the website to do useful things. A cookie, for example, allows a website operator to know whether a computer (and probably its related user) has visited the website before. In the main the purpose for cookies is to improve a website’s operation and the users’ experience whilst visiting the same site.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be first-party or third-party, where ‘first-party' means those associated with the site as the domain, whilst ‘third-party’ cookies means those related to external domains. Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external subject, always defined at the “third-party”, not managed by the site. These subjects can also install first-party cookies, saving their own cookies on the website domain. Another type of cookie is the so-called 'Flash Cookie' (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to distribute certain content such as video clips or animations, in order to remember the settings and preferences. Flash cookies are saved on the device, but are managed through a different interface with respect to that provided by the browser used.

The nature of cookies

When it comes to their nature, cookies can be classified as technical and profiling cookies.

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “undertaking the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly required by the provider of a service of the company of the information specifically requested by the registered member or user to deliver this service “(see Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Code).
They are not used for any other purpose and are normally installed directly by the website's owner or operator. They can be broken down into:
• navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (making it possible, for example, to make purchase or to authenticate oneself in order to access restricted areas) - they are in fact required for the site to operate correctly;
• analytic cookies, likened to technical cookies where they are used directly by the site’s operator for gathering information, in an aggregated form, on the numbers of users and on how these visit the site, for the purpose of improving the site’s performance;
• functionality cookies, that allow users to navigate on the basis of a number of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase etc.), in order to improve the service offered to those same users.
The installation of these cookies does not require the prior consent of users (more information is provided in the Managing Cookies paragraph below).

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies allow profiles of users to be created and they are used for the purpose of sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by those same users when browsing the network.

Before profiling cookies can be used consent has to be obtained from the parties involved. According to the regulation users may grant or deny permission for cookies to be installed by using the options provided in the “Managing Cookies” section.

In the case of third-party cookies, the site has no direct control over individual cookies and is unable to monitor them (it can neither install them directly nor remove them). It is however possible to manage these cookies through the browser’s settings (following the instructions below), or via the sites indicated in the “Managing Cookies” section.

Users are therefore invited to check on the third-party’s site shown in the table below.

Below is a list of cookies that may be present on this website. Third-party cookies show the connection to the Privacy Policy of the related external supplier, where it is possible to find a detailed description of individual cookies and the processes they are subjected to.

The duration of cookies is governed by the expiry date (or by a specific action such as the shutting down of the browser) that is set at the moment of installation.
Cookies can be:
• temporary or session: they are used for storing temporary information allowing the actions performed during a specific session to be linked and they are removed from the computer once the browser is shut down.
• permanent (persistent cookies): these are used for storing information, for example the logon name and password, in order to avoid users having to type them in every time they visit a specific website. They remain in the computer’s memory also after the browser has been shut down.

Managing cookies

In compliance with the regulations of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Code’) and in particular pursuant to article 13, para. 3 and article 122, para. 1 and with reference to the Regulation for identifying the simplified methods for notification and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies – 8 May 2014 (Published in the Official Gazette, issue no. 126 of 3 June 2014), consent to cookies can be modified at any time by contacting the site’s administrator.
Kinski Editori keeps and appropriate record of the permission/permissions granted by users through a specific technical cookie, which is not considered a “not particularly invasive” tool by the Privacy Guarantor. Users can withdraw their consent and/or modify their own options relating to the use of cookies by this website at any time by accessing the Privacy Policy which is accessible from every page of this website.
If consent has already been given but the intention is to change the cookie authorisations, then it will be necessary to delete them via the browser, as shown below, otherwise those that have already been installed will not be removed. It is important to bear in mind that it is not possible to control third-party cookies in any way, therefore if consent has already been given previously, it will be necessary for the cookies to be deleted via the browser (see below) or to request an opt-out directly from the third-parties or by visiting the website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/le-tue-scelte
